Ron wil graag een keer mee met een vrachtschip over zee. Of wat voor boot dan ook, als het maar naar of over zee gaat. Prachtig idee. Volgens mij is hij nu al bezig de muziek uit te zoeken die dan mee moet.
Day after day, water and sky, without anything interesting on the horizon. For a lot of people crossing the ocean may seem a very boring experience. But could it be that just this lack of interesting sky filling events, makes life at sea so interesting? Perhaps these unexciting surroundings make you focus more on the smaller things in life, unnoticed until now? Such as the sun, the moon, the stars, the weather, and the living creatures surrounding the ship. Or even a closer look into your own life. Maybe, in our thriving society colored by soap operas and reality tv, we try hard to ignore these basic things. The fact is that people who think an ocean crossing is boring, in general have never made such a journey filled with 2 or 3 months of water and sky.
Once confronted with the overwhelming abundance of nature, you are forced to realize your own insignificance in the natural world. And that is not a bad thing for those with over-inflated ego's.
